Worming and Inoculations
Your puppy has been wormed at 4 weeks 6 weeks and 8 weeks you should worm it again at 3 months 4 months and 6 months, then twice yearly.
Most Veterinary Surgeons inoculate puppies at 10 weeks and 14 weeks. For safety reasons do not allow your puppy to walk where other dogs have been until about two weeks after the second inoculation. Booster inoculations are needed at yearly intervals.
When you take your puppy to the Vet, hold it in your arms, as an uninoculated puppy is very vulnerable to infection and most of the other dogs may be there because they are ill.
We strongly support the general principals of selective and careful breeding and would adhere to the same sort of rules as people on incestuous breeding as apply to humans. We would like to see the Kennel Club enforcing these rules and backed by laws.
There are almost 4 times more ‘genetic conditions’ passed on by humans than by dogs.
The main generic problems for boxers are cardio-myopathy and other heart conditions, these risks can be reduced by careful and selective breeding of fit healthy dogs.
There is a health screening and heart scoring programmes set up for Boxers. The introduction of the corgi into the bobtail boxer line has made a massive change in the genetic pool and the blood line.
We are members of the Kennel Club Accredited Breeders Scheme. Indeed; we were among the founding members and stick closely to their code of conduct, including DNA testing.
We say on our web site and have done for many years that we breed family pets, and, temperament and health are what we regard as the most important things in a family pet not that one of their parents won a prettiest dog show.
How many people take a bony baby show seriously, or think they should try to breed with Mr Universe or Miss World
